For two years after my PhD, I felt stuck in a punishing daily routine, at the bottom of a career ladder, on a particular life path, and in a city I wasn’t exactly fond of. I realised I needed time off the career treadmill. So, I decided to quit my job and increase my freelance translation workload. And then the vision expanded. What if I could take advantage of the flexibility of being freelance? What if I could convince my husband to quit his job too? What if we could create a life that would allow us to see more of the world

Since September 2018, I have been travelling full time as an international house sitter in Europe and Asia. When I’m not rescuing kittens from trees in Germany (this actually happened) or hiking up mountains with canine company in Korea, I work as a writer, translator, and online English teacher.
